Le Ha Thu Oanh Alicia

Le Ha Thu Oanh Alicia is a historian of childhood and French Indochina. Her MPhil thesis tracks the rise of a socio-cultural history of indigenous Vietnamese childhood under French rule through a cluster of children’s literature, modern theatre, visual culture, and literary memoirs. She’s also a writer, poet, and translator whose creative works have appeared, under the pen name Ally Le, on Zzz Review (on hiatus), Mekong Review, Art Nation, This is Southeast Asia, Canto Cutie, The Primer, The Newsletter of the IIAS (Leiden University), and forthcoming elsewhere. Winner of the 2026 Stevns Translation Prize, her English translation of Vietnamese writer Maik Cây’s novel Bảo Tàng Lông [Museum of Hair] will be published in late 2027 with Two Lines Press (US) and Peirene Press (UK).
