Monthly History Colloquium

The monthly history colloquium, initiated in 2023, brings together a community of historians from various departments at HKU and beyond. The colloquium provides a space to share works in progress, give and receive feedback on new writing, and discuss influential works by established scholars. Each session is led by one or two members, and most sessions take the form of reading groups or manuscript workshops. However, session leaders are welcome to develop their own formats as long as group discussion and collaboration remain at the forefront.

The colloquium welcomes postgraduate students and faculty members who use historical methods in their research regardless of discipline. If you are interested in joining or would like to lead a future session, please get in touch with Nicole Vaughan at histcoll@hku.hk
